About the speakers

Mr Abtin Alvand

Mr Abtin Alvand is a Consultant Orthopaedic Knee Surgeon at the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre, Oxford, and an Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer at the University of Oxford (NDORMS). He graduated from the University of London and trained in Trauma and Orthopaedics at Oxford. With a PhD on improving surgical learning in unicompartmental knee arthroplasty, he researches knee surgery outcomes, infection management, and surgical education via simulation.

Mr Chethan Jayadev

Mr Jayadev is a Consultant Orthopaedic Knee Surgeon at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, Stanmore. Specialising in knee surgery, his expertise spans sports injuries, knee preservation, and complex joint replacements. He studied medicine at Oxford University and trained in Trauma & Orthopaedics at the Royal London Hospital. Mr Jayadev completed a DPhil at Oxford focusing on knee osteoarthritis and further honed his skills through three specialist surgical fellowships.

Prof Andrew Price

Professor Price studied medicine at the University of Cambridge and completed clinical studies at St. Thomas' Hospital, London. He joined the Oxford Orthopaedic training program in 1997 and became a Clinical Lecturer at NDORMS in 2001. Awarded a DPhil in 2003, he completed a Knee Fellowship in Melbourne and was appointed Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at NDORMS in 2011. Prof Price is a Consultant Knee Surgeon and Clinical Director at the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre, leads the Knee Research Group at NDORMS, and is a Fellow of Worcester College.
